Bio

Cindy Aug is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She works with both individuals and couples. Using a variety of theoretical approaches, she aspires to recognize a person’s individual worth and promote their personal growth by taking the patient to a deeper understanding of their mental processes and how they impact their feelings, motivations and patterns of behavior so that they are able to make positive and productive changes to achieve the fulfillment they are searching for in their lives.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in 1993 from Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Missouri with a major in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies.
  • Later, in 2013, she went on to get her Masters of Social Work Degree from Saint Louis University, Saint Louis, Missouri
  • In 2014, Ms. Aug graduated with her Advanced Certification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and her certification in Children & Adolescents in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy both from the Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute, St. Louis, Missouri. Cindy worked during this time in the Herbert Schiele Clinic at the Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute to obtain her supervised licensure hours.

Experience

Cindy has worked in a wide variety of areas in social work. Beginning her career working at a Charter Psychiatric Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. She worked on both the acute and long-term units where she facilitated groups on social skills, anger management and various mental health issues, etc. She worked individually with the patients and also assisted with discharge planning. 

Then she took a case management position with the State of Missouri, serving people with developmental disabilities. She went on to work in the private sector and used her skills as an Administrator of a group home and then went on to become the Director of a handful of companies that provided individualized supported living services to those with developmental disabilities. Eventually, she co-partnered with a colleague, and they opened their own business, MOSAIC Community Services, LLC. Cindy also started her own private practice in Psychotherapy in the Cape Girardeau, Missouri area. 

After relocating to Saint Louis a few years ago, Cindy opened her own private practice here. She  also worked at Job Corps as a Center Mental Health Consultant where she worked with at-risk youth to help them obtain their GED and develop skills for a trade so they can become a valued part of the work force.
